Harry Stendhal Settles Lawsuit

With Jonas Mekas and Anthology Film Archives

Yoko Ono Grapefruit original manuscript to go on sale

The filmmaker Jonas Mekas and his New York art dealer, Harry Stendhal of the Maya Stendhal Gallery, have settled a long running legal dispute, according to lawyers for the parties. Terms of the settlement were confidential. Mr. Mekas was represented by Matthew J. Press of Press Law Firm, PLLC; Mr. Stendhal and the Maya Stendhal Gallery were represented by Marc E. Elliott, P.C.

The George Maciunas Foundation, Inc. and Harry Stendhal, in partnership with Ms. Billie
Maciunas, announced today that Sotheby’s will sell the “Grapefruit Cards” original manuscript by Yoko Ono later this year. The proceeds of the sale will benefit the Foundation and Ms. Macinuas, widow of the late George Maciunas, who is considered a founder of the Fluxus art movement. The George Maciunas Foundation, Inc. was established to preserve and promote the art and legacy of George Maciunas. The George Maciunas Foundation, Inc. was represented by Michael C. Ledley of Wohlmuth, Maher & Deutsch, LLP; Mr. Stendhal was represented by Marc E. Elliott, P.C.; and Billie Maciunas was represented by Matthew J. Press of Press Law Firm, PLLC.
